Every Mazonkiki silk scarf is woven by specialist artisans in Bursa, Turkey — the ancient silk capital of the Ottoman Empire, where silk weaving has been practised for over 500 years. Each design is exclusive to Mazonkiki, produced in small batches rather than mass quantities, which means no two seasons are identical.
Our silk scarves are woven in Bursa, Turkey. Bursa has been Turkey's centre of silk production since the 14th century and remains home to some of the finest silk weavers in the world. Our Wearable Art scarves — featuring Kiki's original photography — are printed on silk in Zhejiang, China, using specialist digital printing processes that preserve the detail and colour depth of the original artwork.
A Wearable Art scarf is a silk scarf featuring an original photograph taken by Kiki, printed directly onto 100% satin silk. Each image is chosen for its visual impact when worn — the way colour, composition and movement translate from a photograph into something you can drape, tie or wrap. They are limited edition pieces, not repeated season to season.
Yes. Each Wearable Art design is produced in a limited edition run and is not repeated. Once a design sells out, it is retired. This is intentional — Kiki believes that true wearable art should be rare.
Our silk scarves are made from 100% pure silk. The Wearable Art collection uses satin silk, which has a smooth, lustrous surface that captures photographic detail and colour depth exceptionally well. Our woven silk scarves from Bursa use traditional silk weaving techniques with pure silk thread.
Silk is a natural protein fibre that responds best to gentle handling. We recommend dry cleaning for all silk scarves, or hand washing in cool water with a gentle silk-specific detergent. Avoid wringing or twisting. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Iron on a low silk setting with a cloth between the iron and the scarf.
Yes — a silk scarf is one of the most versatile accessories you can own. It can be worn around the neck as a classic scarf, tied as a headband or hair wrap, knotted at the waist as a belt, worn as a top or bandeau, draped over the shoulders as a light wrap, or tied to a bag as a decorative accessory. Kiki herself wears her silk designs as tops in her editorial imagery.
Yes. Our scarves are available in a range of sizes depending on the collection. Standard sizes include square formats (typically 90×90cm) and elongated formats suitable for wrapping or wearing as a top. Specific dimensions are listed on each product page.
